  David might be a fair mechanic but as a person has issues. He has deleted my Craigslist posts for similar mower repair however I am not a mobile service. He sends anonymous emails saying my prices are too low. That I'm not charging enough for reconditioned mowers. He posed as a potential buyer and came to my shop while driving his mobile repair truck. Who does that? I wish David all the success in the world. I also believe in a free market, where I can choose what services are worth and set my own prices competitively. Denver metro is a huge area and I seriously doubt I am any competition.
  He wrote, "Dude-- I run my own lawn mower shop, you know, the kind that pays taxes and overhead and everything? And I see on Craigslist where you are running an illegal lawn mower shop out of your house. And not just one mower at a time, like some old guy trying to supplement his social security, hell no! You blatently advertise five or more at a time! And, so cheap that a fellow running a legit shop can't come anywhere close to competing with you! I am going to send one of my mechanics that live in aurora out to get your address and turn you into zoning."
  I responded, "Funny you mention old guy on social security. I am disabled. I am on social security. I barely make ends meet. I sell nothing all winter. I sell mowers during the summer. Go ahead, do what you think you need to do. Attacking me is hilarious. I doubt I'm taking away your livelihood. I sell a couple mowers a month. Taking that away would be devastating. Again, do what you think is right."
  I asked him if I could see his operation and he responded, "No. But I will tell you this much: If it runs and has some rust but no grass catcher bag, the lowest you should EVER go is $40.
  If it is shiny, has no bag and had all the work you put into it, $60 to $80. You are cheating yourself by selling your REFURBISHED machines for the same price other people are selling their mowers that had no work done on them and, potentially have problems. Mowers that have a grass catcher bag are automatically worth about $20 more. If it has a bag AND self-propel feature --- never ever sell for less than $125. Self propel is a biggy. When a mower starts good, has a good bagger and self-propel, you got a gold mine. People are always willing to pay a lot for Honda, John Deere and Cub Cadet so never EVER sell them cheap! You can always come down in price. Some people without a truck are willing to pay what you ask if you can deliver for them."
  Fair business practices? Of the 33 vertebra, 17 of mine are held together with plates, rods, and screws. I am disabled. I will turn 60 this year. I offer outstanding service at a very fair price. Thanks for reading and your consideration. Good luck in your endeavors, David.
